Treated patients with respect.

PLEASE READ - After being injured as a result of a car accident, my physician recommended physical therapy. She provide three choices and I chose Pro Physical Therapy in Abingdon. For several reasons stated below, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Pro Physical Therapy. On my first day of PT I received full treatment and plan (approx 1 hour) from a degreed physical therapist. In the days that followed she only spent a few minutes (10-15 minutes) then for the rest of the physical therapy you're passed off to a tech. I found out by asking the tech, that the extent of their training is only few hours before starting work there. Physical therapy was not working. It would take me a couple of days to recover from PT, there was no progress and it the pain got worse. I later found out that I had injured discs in my neck and back from the accident. I went back to see my doctor to tell her that the PT was hurting more than helping. She instructed me to stop going. When I went back to Pro Physical Therapy, I informed the person at the front desk by the name of Jen that I was going to discontinue treatment. For some strange reason she became rude and indignant, and wanted to know why I was not coming back. I told her that I was not coming back per my doctor’s recommendation and requested that Pro PT refund the copays (10 x $20) that they should not have collected from. She told me that I could not have them back until the account was closed and that I was sure I was not coming back. I again told her that I was not coming back and requested that she close my account. Jen was very aggressive, almost like a bully and asked again when I was coming back (???). After reviewing the bills submitted to my auto insurance company by Pro Physical Therapy, I noticed they indicated that I had been seen by someone that I had not been seen by. I called Pro PT and requested an explanation. They claimed that that was how they billed when the (un-degreed physical therapist) assistant/techs provide the therapy – they bill using the name of the degreed physical therapist, claiming that the assistant/tech was working under them during that time and that the degreed therapist provided oversight. Not once, did that particular therapist named on the bill come over to see how the assistant/tech was treating me. Bottom line, I never had any conversations/spoke to, or was treated by the person listed on the bill Pro PT submitted to my insurance company. Pro Physical Therapy billed my health insurance, collected co-pays (10 x $20 = $200) AND also billed my auto insurance. I contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield to let them know. All bills were then submitted to my auto insurance, USAA. My auto insurance paid Pro PT and all bills were paid in full/cleared by the end of the May/June 2011 timeframe. Pro PT still refused to refund the co-pays they collected from me even after having been paid in full by my auto insurance. It wasn't until numerous phone calls to them and having to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau that they finally returned the money owed me in the amount of $200 (10 copays @ $20) in Oct/Nov 2011 timeframe. In December 2011, Pro Physical Therapy sent me a bill and is now attempting to collect $154.40 from me. The bill appears to be a false billing. The bill states that on 3/18/2011 they billed my insurance company (which insurance company - I don’t know) $569.60. I’ve already checked and it doesn’t match the bill sent to my auto insurance. Again, they billed both of my insurance companies (personal health and auto) for the same treatment, so I don't know which one they are referring to. They also claim on this bill that on 3/18/2011, they collected $53.09 from me. THIS IS NOT TRUE. What a nightmare this has been with this company. I plan to follow-up with another complaint.

very nice people and made my experience very pleasant.
